Online Tutorials

Soon after the launch of our innovative converged curriculum, the UW-Madison J-School faculty identified a weakness. Students exposed to technology training in our introductory practices course needed continuing access to those lessons as they worked their way through other classes, where some faculty didn’t have time or expertise for in-class training. In response, I designed and produced a suite of online training modules.

More focused to our lessons than commercial services like Lynda.com, these tutorials give students on-demand training in key software packages, including Adobe Creative Suite, Audacity, Excel and others. They also incorporate important conceptual material, such as principles of visual communication and ethics in editing.
